Occupational Therapy

Help Our Residents be Safe, Productive, and Independent

Occupational therapy (OT) is the use of purposeful activities or interventions to promote health and achieve the highest possible functional outcomes.  An individualized plan of care is established with treatment goals according to the resident’s specific needs.  Occupational therapy services address:

  • Activities of daily living (such as dressing, bathing, and grooming)
  • Home management tasks
  • Sensory awareness
  • Gross and fine motor skills
  • Cognition
  • Psychosocial skills
  • Wheelchair management
  • Positioning
  • Orthotics (support or correction of musculoskeletal deformities and/or abnormalities)

The ambition of Valley’s Occupational Therapy team is to help our residents be safe, productive, and independent in their primary living environment.
